Dear friends,
Who would have EVER thought that I would willingly walk THIRTY miles in
just TWO days?! I am sure many of you doubt that I can! There must be a
catch...or something...well there is..... So, here is the story.
My sister, Janice, fought breast cancer seven years ago and a relapse just
recently. She worked hard to fight the evil disease and even harder to find
the right place to give back to the community. Of course, she found it! The
Atlanta 2day walk for Breast Cancer occurs every fall for the past several
years. Money raised stays in Georgia for research and outreach. Most
importantly, there is no money given to Planned Parenthood! Their
tenth anniversary walk is this October. Interestingly, it falls on the tenth
anniversary of our mother's death from esophageal cancer. In memory of
her, and in celebration of Janice's successful fight against breast cancer,
we have a team of walkers for the event. Needless to say, we have to raise
money ($1000.00 per walker), and shamelessly, I am asking for your help! If
you feel that this is something you want to do, the easiest way to donate is
online at www.itsthejourney.org. Just go to "donate to a walker" and
type in my name....it is that easy. Any amount is greatly appreciated!
